Took a bus from Sabo enroute Obalende on a Monday morning. The conductor asked for fares as soon as we boarded, and at the next bus stop, which had not even up to a tenth of the journey, the bus breaks down!
The Conductor then decides to put us in another bus instead of returning our fare to us completely. This, of course, is accompanied with a lot of 'drama'. Eventually, this is sorted. Some collected part of their fares and added more to take another bus while other waited until he got them a bus so he'd negotiate with the new conductor to take what he was offering. That part done, I got on another bus and continued my journey to Obalende.
On getting to Sura junction by FRSC, this bus develops a rather strategic fault. Apparently its accelerator cable cut, but notto worry, his conductor get into the engine area and begins to manually accelerates the bus from the back while the driver continued to steer the bus from his seat. Now that was some interesting driving or riding depending on which side of the divide you were. The car stalls a couple of times due to improper coordination but we got to Obalende in one piece (the bus and its passengers).
Now twas time to pick a bike to V.I. and I was like, I'd better not pick a bike that will begin to misbehave on the road o! That will officially certify today a not good day, and being a Monday, will probably result in a 'not good' week too. I did take a bike and gratefully, the engine and its body were in a great shape. I only wish the rider was in the same shape. His take off and stopping were quite outstanding. It's been a while I had to hold on for my dear life on a bike but I did and we made it safely.
I sure am grateful and look forward to a promising day and week ahead..like one wise somebody said…All is well that ends well!
Now let's go deal with paper work and site inspection for today…
